In May 2016 we started a donations scheme for people to give a little bit of money to support new creative events in Museums at Night.

The People’s Fund

If you think this is a great idea and would like to support Culture24’s People’s Fund to help make even more exciting Museums at Night events happen in future, just £3 can make a difference: donate here!

What’s on offer for museums and galleries?

Thanks to the generosity of members of the public over the last couple of months, we’re delighted to announce that our People’s Fund has 3 x £100 bursaries to give away, to support three cultural or heritage organisations to deliver events as part of Museums at Night, 27-29 October 2016.

Winning venues will also receive guaranteed publicity and marketing support through the Museums at Night website and Twitter feed, and a free event marketing consultation with the campaign coordinator.

Who is eligible to apply?

The fund is open to all UK-based cultural and heritage organisations that are not already in receipt of funding from a Culture24 run project. In order to apply for a £100 bursary, your organisation must:

How to apply

Read the Ts & Cs here, then please use this form to tell us your event idea for Museums at Night in October 2016 – the more creative the better!

The application form asks you to respond to 3 simple questions:

1. Your creative idea

Please tell us about the event you’d like to run. What will happen? What format will it take? What makes the idea creative and exciting? Make sure you have thought about what you can achieve that stays within budget. (Maximum 100 words)

2. Target audience

What sort of audience are you aiming to attract with this event? For example, are you aiming to reach lapsed attenders, families who want a hands-on element to the event, or mature explorers who want an event with an educational element? (Maximum 100 words)

For more information about audience development strategies read our resource Targeting specific audiences.

3. The money

Each winning venue will receive £100 to spend on their event. Please use this space to tell us what you will spend your prize money on! (Maximum 50 words)

The deadline to complete the application form is 5pm on Monday 1st August 2016. We look forward to hearing about your event ideas!
