How do museum Lates build audiences and generate income? This was the topic of Culture24′s first conference all about after-hours arts and heritage programming. The conference developed ideas presented in our recently published series of research reports.
On Friday 1 June 2018 museum and gallery programmers, venue decision-makers and night-time economy people gathered at the National Gallery, London. With 24 speakers from three continents and 170 delegates from a range of regions, A Culture of Lates focused on:
- Building the relationship between museum Lates and the night-time economy
- Growing audiences by expanding museums’ evening programmes
- Generating income from Lates
Click to view the programme and list of speakers or read more about the night-time economy panel discussion in a new post from our sponsor, Airbnb. You can see more photos from the day below.
Thanks to Airbnb and Blackdown Distillery for supporting the conference, and to the National Gallery for partnering with us to make it happen.
We will be releasing resources from the conference and news about future Lates projects soon. Follow Culture24 on Twitter and sign up to the Museums at Night newsletter for updates!
