Rainbow Makers was a treasure hunt type game, primarily for adults, played during a the Whitworth’s Lates event that included a pop-up bar, workshop and DJs.
Wearing specially designed ‘light vests’ the teams of game-players were tasked with finding seven iconic artworks, posing around them and getting a photo taken by a ‘Colour Realm Gatekeeper’. These images were uploaded to a website and then projected back on big screen at the venue.
This was only the second time the game had ever been played, the first in the UK. There was a high-level of excitement in the venue, feedback was outstanding and game-players were noticeably drawn from a more diverse and younger demographic than would normally enjoy Lates at the Whitworth.
