We’re excited that museums, members of the public and media outlets are already showing interest in the next Museums at Night festival, taking place from Thursday 25 – Saturday 27 October 2018.

If you’re organising a Museums at Night event (or two!), you’ll find the key dates for your diary in this post.

Event registration

The final deadline for registering events is Thursday 11 October (two weeks before the festival). However, we advise registering your events by Friday 3 August in order to be considered for our long lead press release. The sooner you register your Museums at Night event, the sooner we can include it in festival publicity! Please see all marketing deadlines below.

If you’ve set a date but haven’t finalised the details, you can still register your event in the database. Simply change the Event Status to Planning rather than Confirmed. The Museums at Night team will be able to see it, but it won’t be visible to the public.

Looking for inspiration? Our Big List of Event Ideas may be helpful. Or you can call us on 01273 523982 to chat about your plans and what might work well for your organisation.

Marketing

If you register your event listing by Friday 3 August, it will have the chance to appear in early and later press releases. The final PR deadline is Monday 1 October. Events in our database by this date will be considered for inclusion in our short lead press releases.

Events added after this deadline will still display on the festival events page, but won’t receive extra marketing.

Got some great photos? We’re already compiling our media image library, which journalists use to source the photos they feature when writing about the festival. We’re looking for high-resolution (300 dpi or higher) photos, showing people having a good time at your venue, ideally after hours or in atmospheric lighting!

Please email your promotional images to molly@culture24.org.uk for the chance to be included.
