Being Human festival 2019

Being Human: A Festival of the Humanities

14/11/2019 - 23/11/2019

The UK’s only national festival of the humanities is back this November! With more than 250 free events taking place in more than 50 UK towns and cities. The festival’s mission is to make humanities subjects including history, literature, classics, archaeology, philosophy and languages accessible, engaging and fun for all, and to demonstrate the relevance of humanities research to society, culture and everyday life. The festival runs in partnership with the Arts and Humanities Research Council and the British Academy. There’s something new for everyone to discover in this year’s ‘Discoveries and Secrets’ themed programme, with events including gallery take-overs, hands-on workshops and behind-the-scenes tours, on topics spanning everything from Moroccan hip-hop to LGBTQ+ histories. Visit the website to browse the full programme of free events.
